On May 1 and May 2-3, 2013, the Baker Center hosted more than 100 attendees from across the nation at two separate workshops on electric vehicles. The May 1 program was developed by Linda Bluestein and Jamison Walker of the Clean Cities program in the Dept. of Energy. The May 2-3 program was designed by Dr. David Greene, Baker Fellow and ORNL Corporate Fellow and Dr. Chris Cherry, UT Engineering. The programs targeted two audiences and included a display of electric vehicles.
On May 1, Clean Cities, a program of the Dept. of Energy sponsored Technical Review of Clean Cities’ Electric Vehicle Community Readiness Projects. This workshop was for grant recipients who developed policies and processes for integrating electric –drive vehicles into their community. More than 100 attended from Hawaii and Oregon to Florida and New York.
On May 2-3, another 100 attended Electrifying the Vehicle Market in the Southeast. This program was sponsored by: Clean Cities, Baker Center, Nissan, Tennessee Energy Education*, TNSCORE, FedEx, and UT’s College of Engineering, Office of Research and Engagement, Ctr. for Transportation Research, Institute for Secure and Sustainable Environment and Civil & Environmental Engineering.
