Robert L. Taylor

Robert L. Taylor was born in Embreeville, Tennessee on December 20, 1899. He graduated from Milligan College in 1922. He studied law at Yale University and graduate in 1924. Taylor died on July 11, 1987.

On November 2, 1949 President Harry S Truman appointed Taylor to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on March 8, 1950 and his commission on March 9, 1950. He served as the chief judge from 1961 to 1969. He assumed senior status on January 15, 1984.
