Harold Ford, Jr. was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 11, 1970. He received a Bachelor’s degree in American History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. Ford received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1996.
Ford was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1996. He was 26 years old when he took office. Congressman Ford was re-elected to the House of Representatives four times. He spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2000. He supported Vice President Albert Gore’s nomination for President of the United States.
