Bio: Nissa Dahlin-Brown was hired as Assistant Director in July, 2003. She worked in the Division of Continuing Education at UT as a program coordinator and assistant director in Conferences and later in Professional & Personal Development from 1984 - 2003. She has a bachelor's degree in Architecture (1979), master's degree in Technological and Adult Education (1989), and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration and Policy Studies (2003) from the University of Tennessee. In July 2005, she received the Alice L Beeman Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award in Communications and Marketing given by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for her dissertation, "The Impact of U.S. News & World Report Rankings on Eight Public MBA Programs." An article, written from this dissertation, “The Perceptual Impact of U.S. News & World Report Rankings on Eight Public MBA Programs" is scheduled for publication in the Journal of Marketing for Higher Education in June 2006. An article co-authored with Dr. Bob Kronick, UT College of Education, Health and Human Sciences,“Collaboration and Prevention: Looking Back on Eleven Years of a University Assisted Community School,” will be published in Fall 2008 by the University of Pennsylvania Netter Center for Community Partnerships. In Fall 2008, Nissa taught a First Year Studies course for UT freshman and co-taught the Baker Center Learning Community’s course on civic engagement with Dr. Michael Fitzgerald and Gavin Luter. .
