Bio: Robert B. Shelton is a Research Professor of Economics, Senior Associate for Energy Policy for the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy, and Program Coordinator for Energy Economics and Policy for the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment, all at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Robert Shelton is an economist by training. He has held previous teaching, research, and administrative positions at Arizona State University, the University of Wyoming, Resources for the Future, the National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In addition, he has led a number of international energy and environmental assistance projects in Bangladesh, Georgia, Guatemala, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Romania, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine.
He is a native of Texas. He is married, and he and his wife, Jocelyn, have three sons.
