Embedded Journalists in Iraq : Propaganda or Truth? - Grades 9-12

Embedded journalists are reporters and photojournalists who are placed with a specific military unit during a wartime assignment. Though the US has always had reporters covering the war, this type of news reporting was an exciting change for journalism. However, this change also gave rise to concerns of bias or propaganda in reporting. Students will explore these dilemmas, debate the various pros and cons of embedding and explore other ethical situations that could plague high school reporters in their own school.
