Narrating the Anthropocene, or, Learning to Live with the Trickster

Thursday, March 1 | 1:00 to 2:30 pm | Toyota Auditorium

Dr. Robin Craig, is the James I. Farr Professor of Law at the University of Utah.

ABSTRACT:

The stories we tell ourselves about our relationship to nature matter. This talk derives from my new book with Melinda Harm Benson, The End of Sustainability: Resilience and the Future of Environmental Governance in the Anthropocene and will explore both the failed narratives of the past and the promise of resilience theory and a trickster cultural narrative for natural resources management in the future.
