Baker Center Facilities

Effective February 15, 2012, the Baker Center has a revised policy including new rental fees for use of the meeting spaces in the Baker Center.   As before, space cannot be reserved more than 60 days in advance (exception of semester credit courses), a priority for usage has been established, and all space will have a fee associated with it.  Facility reservations at the Baker Center are open only to faculty and staff of the University of Tennessee.   The building is open 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.  

**Regarding Parking–We cannot reserve any parking spaces at the Baker Center.

The Baker Center is an education and research facility located on the campus of UT Knoxville. The building also houses the Chancellor’s Honors program, the Modern Political Archives and research room, offices for Baker Center staff and fellows,  and an executive office for Senator Baker.  Designed to LEED Silver Certification, the center is a 51,527-square-foot, three-level structure clad in brick and Tennessee Marble.  The archives research room are free and open to the public Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Toyota Auditorium:  $350 (weekdays)/$450 (weekends)

Located on the first floor. Seats around 100 at round tables of 7 with room for additional chairs along the sides and back of the room.  A stage with table and podium to the side are the standard arrangement for this room.  Theatre style (on the right) is another option for larger groups (approx. 170), but is not the standard set.

Rotunda: $200 weekdays/$300 weekends

Elegant open space with marble floors and sound system, soaring three stories.  Perfect for receptions, book signings or other special events.  There is some limited seating and two long rectangular tables.

Reading Room/First Floor Lounge: $100/day 

Seats 8-12 people and is not AV capable. Located on the first floor. Primarily used for small meetings and study sessions.

Executive Boardroom – $400 (weekdays)/$500 (weekends)

Located on the third floor.  Can seat 18 people around one long table. Projector and screen present.


Rooms 204 & 205 ($150 each/weekdays $250 each weekends)

Located on the second floor. Set up with long tables and chairs. Each class seats up to 30.  204/205 can be combined to create one larger room that will hold up to 60 people. Each room has a projector and screens as well as AV capabilities.

Rooms 203, 207 & 208 ($100 each/weekdays,  $150 each weekends)

Located on the second floor.  Set up with tables and chairs. Can hold between 10 and 15 people. 207/208 can be combined to create one larger room that will seat as many as 25.  These rooms have no projection equipment.
